In Class Writing Prompt #2

Today I brought to class my pink pen. It is pink, it smells like ink, it feels comfortable to use in my hand, and when I write I can hear the pen transferring my thoughts on to a sheet a paper. I cannot tell you what my pink pen tastes like because I would rather not lick my pink pen. I would guess that it tastes very bitter though.

My pink pen is my favorite pen and my favorite writing utensil. It is very important to me when it comes to writing. Normally, my classes would call for blue or black ink, but when I can write with my pink pen, I do. My pink pen writes with pink ink. Pink is obviously my favorite color. I like to write with it because I feel like it spices up my papers and adds my own personal touch. I feel like when I write in pink, my paper looks neat and pretty. It makes me want to use good penmanship rather than boring, quick, blue or black chicken scratches. Pink is a color that makes me happy. Even though I enjoy writing, my pink pen makes me enjoy writing even more since I get to write with my favorite color. I always have my pink pen with me. For as long as I can remember, I have always bought a pink pen before every year in school started. Some teachers back then would still tell me not to use my pink pen. Anything personal I wrote and anything I did not have to turn in, I always wrote in pink.

  1. I thought it was unique you brought a pink pen. I guess a pink pen helps to resemble what a creative writer you can be. I agree having to use a black or blue pen in school always gets old. When as students we are able to change the little things such as the color of our pen, I believe it can change us as writers. I remember when I was in school I would always have to study off of my boring black and white notes. While studying I had the thought of possibly making this a better experience, I would make my notes colorful. To do this I would use colorful pens to underline words, a highlighter, and any other colorful thing I had. Once continuing to have colorful notes I had a better mine set to study. From then on I began to study better, and my grades continued to get better! I feel like the way I would color my notes, and the way you use a pink pen shows how a little color can go a long way. Instead of constantly having the same old thing it is always good to change it up. Now I feel inspired to swap my black and blue pen when I can, with a different color. I hope in the future your pink pen helps to inspire you as a writer. With this inspiration I wish you the best and good luck this semester on all your future papers you will have to write!

  2. Maisey, I LOVE your pink pen! When you revised my essay you wrote it with your pink pen and it made my day. I think everyone has a little something special like that to make their day go easier. I also have a favorite pen. Though it writes in plain old black, it is my favorite camouflage on the outside. It writes so smooth and it makes all of my writing adventures a little easier.
And as far as taking notes goes I understand! I used to doodle on my history notes and that would, for some odd reason, help me remember what I took the notes on. I hope your pink pen inspires you all the way to an A+!
