Conference with Mrs. Piro
Meeting with Mrs. Piro personally with my essay helped me sooo much! I think all teachers should have conferences like that with their students, it proves to the student that they care about succeeding in their class. She definitely was right when she said how important it was to meet with her and not to miss your conference. She picked out errors that my classmates missed and I am so glad because now my grade on my paper will be better. As i rewrote my paper and fixed my errors she suggested, my paper makes a lot more sense now and flows better then it did. I had to take quite a bit of irrelevant stuff out, but it gets my point across a lot more now. I can't wait to read everyone's papers Tuesday! I also can't wait to turn in my final copy and my 3 prong binder to get my grade, I tried my best!

I really agree and think that more teachers should have conferences like that more often. I think the meeting with Mrs. Piro went really well and she gave me a lot of pointers and corrections for my paper that I didn't even catch or think about changing. I think its good that she wanted to sit down and take time to go over that stuff with her students. It really shows that she cares and wants them to do good in this class. I had my doubts about this paper and the class, but I feel more comfortable with it, and I'm sure you do as well. I'm also looking forward to reading other stories and turning my paper in. I'm sure you will receive a good grade and I'm hoping I do as well. All you can do is your best!
ReplyDeleteI also agree meeting with Mrs. Piro to discuss out Literacy “Mash- Up” Narrative papers was a lot of help. The thought of a teacher taking time out to sit with each of her students individually was a great help. This made me feel more confident about my paper, and answer some of my questions I was too afraid to ask in class. I also liked how when she corrected some parts of my paper she explained why it needs to be changed. This allowed me to go through my paper and make more changes like the ones she made. I also liked how it got rid of my nerves about turning in my paper. From the day we were assigned the paper I have been nervous if my writing skill were good enough, this conference helped me to feel more confident and get rid of my nerves.
ReplyDeleteWhile once more our papers will be proof read again on Tuesday, I am so excited see how far we have come as writers. I cannot wait to see the feedback I get, which surprises me because I hate when people read my papers. I feel as if Mrs. Piro is making my hate for writing develop into a like. I like putting my thoughts into words and then going through the process of making it the best possible paper I can write! Overall I cannot wait to get the feedback on my paper and even possibly help other by giving them feedback as well. I also hope when Mrs. Piro reads our papers she will be happy with all of them!
First off, I love holding conferences with my students because each person is different. Secondly, I loved reading those papers, and I was really thrilled to see the growth. The moment of true happiness for me is the oral report because you will all see that you have all grown as writers. Please keep up the hard work! :) it pays off in the long run!
